High School GPA (Middle 50%): 2.85 - 3.57 SAT Math + Critical Reading (Middle 50%): 880 - 1030 Warner Pacific is an urban Christian liberal arts college. Placed by God in the heart of the city, our daily reality and institutional identity are inextricably linked to our urban location in Portland. The city is who we are, where we experience God’s grace and presence, and Warner Pacific serves as a force for change, a community that demonstrates inclusion and diversity while addressing issues of regional injustice and educational challenges. We prepare teachers, business executives, social workers, pastors, accountants and effective community members to go forth and lead. But – more importantly – at the center of it all is a unique liberal arts core that weaves faith, ethics and civic responsibility into the fabric of our education. Students are challenged to prepare for the complex issues facing our world today, while developing skills in logic and critical thinking with the intent of preparing them to face a rapidly evolving global marketplace. We prepare graduates who think well, believe deeply and serve diligently. We will not seek answers to big questions as an academic exercise, but rather take into account how the answers immediately impact our city. Our alumni go on to successful careers in business, law, education, medicine, ministry, research and public service to name a few. They attend well-respected graduate schools, start their own businesses and non-profit organizations, hold elected offices and travel the world. But in all cases, they use the essential critical thinking skills they developed at WPC – as well as the new perspectives they gained and the Christian support they received – to continue enriching their lives and careers, long after they’ve graduated. |
